RISe WITH ME
This district taught me to imagine, & in doing so, it shaped me. From my time as a youth president of the Atlanta-Rome District to studying abroad in France, serving as President of the Connectional Young Adult Ministry, & pursuing multiple degrees, including my PhD, I’ve been able to see firsthand what is possible when we dare to imagine. I’ve experienced the power of dreaming beyond our current circumstances, of envisioning new possibilities, & pushing the boundaries of what we think is achievable.
Now, I ask you to imagine with me: What could Christian Education look like in the CME Church?
Imagine a place where every leader is empowered to rise to their fullest potential. A place where our educational programs are deeply reflective of our history, yet bold in their embrace of innovation. A place where the next generation of leaders are not only equipped with knowledge but also nurtured in faith, purpose, & creativity.
Imagine Christian education as a dynamic space where learning extends beyond the classroom. A place where students, young & old, can discover their true calling, fueled by a passion for ministry, service, & growth. Imagine the possibilities if we prioritize sustainability by creating programs that support long-term growth & that are accessible to everyone, regardless of background or resources.
Together, we can RISE to this challenge, bringing forward the transformation that the CME Church needs. This is not just about maintaining the status quo; it’s about imagining a future where Christian education is deeply integrated with the changing needs of the church & society. It’s possible to create a space where every person, whether a student, an educator, or a practitioner, feels supported, equipped, & ready to lead.
Reflective
We must assess the work done by the Department of Christian Education & Formation & listen to the needs of the people. It is vital that we honor the work of the past while moving forward to create solutions that meet the evolving needs of our community.
Sustainable
Long-term success means building systems that support growth, not just for today but for generations to come. Sustainable Christian education nurtures both leaders & learners for a lifetime of faith & service.
Innovative
Tradition meets new ideas. Christian education can be both rooted in tradition & forward-thinking. By integrating innovation, we ensure that our programs remain relevant, impactful, & transformative.
Endowments
Empowering individuals through scholarships, professional development opportunities, & spiritual formation is essential. By investing in people, we cultivate leaders who will sustain the church’s future.
